All About Balingup

With a population of under 600, Balingup thrives through active volunteering and community-driven initiatives, including over 40 active community groups. The town is known for its vibrant annual events like the Small Farm Field Day and the Medieval Carnivale, which attract thousands of visitors each year. What makes Balingup really unique is their place-based governance model - with one community board and umbrella insurance policy for 16 community groups in town. This model saves duplication of effort and expense and combats the challenge of attracting and retaining board level volunteers for every group. This video emphasizes how collaboration, creativity and a willingness to contribute make Balingup a vibrant and resilient village.
