The Power of Community Conference

5 & 6 April 2023

@ Mercure Perth on Irwin

The Power of Community is Linkwest’s 22nd conference, and our formula of combining opportunities for professional development, networking, and the sharing of best practice in an upbeat, fun and welcoming environment, not only works, but ensures this biennial event is a much-anticipated part of our members’ calendar.

Our last face-to-face conference was in 2019, and much has happened since. The last few years have brought their unexpected challenges, however Centres have not only successfully navigated this period of significant change, but have continued to build, strengthen, and support small and large communities across WA. You have provided essential services, brought people together, and demonstrated extraordinary resilience while fostering resilience in communities.

This conference is for – and about – Centres. It is an opportunity to get together with your peers and celebrate the achievements of a sector that drives community and is driven by creative, skilled, and passionate people.

Held over two days, the conference will feature:

  • Inspirational participatory plenary sessions and keynote speakers with a passion for community
  • Professional development activities: workshops and master classes, delivered by experts
  • An expo/marketplace
  • The opportunity to network and learn more about the work and impact of our 150 member Centres
  • Our biennial Linkwest Awards. The Awards honour the great work being quietly undertaken by those in our sector over the past 24 months

Why attend?

Meet and network with people from the 150 Neighbourhood and Community Resource Centres across Western Australia. Share in the many exciting initiatives happening in small and large communities, connect with old friends and make new friends. By taking part in Linkwest’s conference, you will have the chance to share ideas and explore creative solutions with your peers from across the state.

Make the most of the keynotes and workshops tailored specifically to our sector, sharing best practice in an upbeat, fun and welcoming environment. These professional development opportunities will help build your capacity for the benefit of your Centre and your community.

Celebrate the achievements of Centres and learn about the initiatives that have made a difference. This year’s Awards evening will highlight the important work Centres do, and the creative ways in which they connect people, leverage partnerships, and solve problems. You will have the chance to hear about some of the most impressive initiatives run by Centres, and to vote on the winner of the People’s Choice Award. Linkwest will also be celebrating our 40th birthday and marking this milestone of service to WA Centres!
