Linkwest State Budget Submission 2023–2024

Linkwest State Budget Submission CoverThe Linkwest State Budget Submission for 2023–2024 provides four recommendations which if followed will ensure the financial viability of the small community managed organisations we call Neighbourhood Centres (NC) and Community Resource Centres (CRC).

Our consultations have revealed a funding crisis across our membership. Many of our member centres are reporting that they are budgeting for a loss this year between $10,000 and $40,000. When average WA State Government funding for a CRC is $107,000 per annum and a NC is $140,000 per annum it is clear that many of our members face an uncertain future.

At the same time our members are reporting increasing demand for programs to reduce loneliness and social isolation, digital literacy and support, emergency relief and food charity and programs for the growing population of active aging seniors.

Linkwest would like to thank all our members who contributed to this submission ensuring that our members concerns and aspirations are understood and considered during the state budget planning process.

Our State Budget Submission 2023–2024 represents our members voice. It is an account of ongoing conversations of the concerns of our network and an opportunity to imagine what the future could hold for local communities, CRCs and NCs throughout WA. It outlines what Linkwest will be advocating for in the lead up to the May 2023 Budget.
