Associate Membership Conditions

An Associate Member must be a group or individual who supports the philosophy and practises of community-led development and learning.


Associate Membership Entitlements

  • Invitations to networking opportunities, and Linkwest events, conferences, forums
  • Invitations to Linkwest sector relevant training
  • Member discounts (at Associate rates) on many resources, networking and training opportunities
  • Keep up-to-date with all things related to our Sector via fortnightly eNews
  • The right to nominate for a position on the Linkwest Board
  • Voting rights (1 vote) at Annual and Special General Meetings
  • Self-service membership management via Linkwest website
    (view resource and event orders, change password, update details etc.)

The Associate Membership application process

  1. Contact Linkwest for a confidential discussion about joining Linkwest as an Associate member. This discussion - with the Linkwest CEO - will help determine your eligibility and what you hope to gain from Linkwest membership.

  2. If it is determined that Linkwest Associate membership is a good fit for you or your organisation, we shall send you a link to complete the Associate member application form and attach any relevant supporting information:
    • For Individual Associate applications, this may include anything that supports your commitment to the community sector e.g. letter of support, volunteering certificate
    • For organisational associate applications this may include
      1. Certificate of Incorporation
      2. Annual Report and/or reviewed/ audited EOFY financials
  3. Pay the required fee, which includes an annual membership fee and a one-off new member administration fee.
    The new member admin fee is to subsidise the cost of administering your application, and as such is non-refundable, even if your application is not approved.
  4. The Linkwest Board will review your application at their next scheduled meeting. It will be based upon the information you provide, so please ensure it is complete as possible.
    Note: If the Board does not feel sufficient information has been provided to make a decision, you may be contacted to provide clarification and/ or additional information.
  5. We will contact you within a reasonable time e.g. one week, after the Board has made their decision.
    1. If approved, you will be sent a welcome email, which will include login details to the member area of the Linkwest website.
    2. If your membership does not proceed, you will be asked for bank details so we can process a refund of the membership fee minus the application fee.

¹ Funding level refers to ongoing funding such as service agreements. It does not take into account income from courses, memberships, non-recurrent grants etc. into account.
