Understanding Child Safe Code of Conduct and Safer HR Practices

CONTENT WARNING: Please note that the content in the webinar discusses child abuse, including sexual abuse, which may be distressing or triggering for some participants.

A Child Safe Code of Conduct and safer HR practices are essential components of a child safe organisation. Together, they help set clear expectations for behaviour, support safe recruitment and supervision, and reduce opportunities for harm to occur. This practical webinar explores how Codes of Conduct and HR processes work together to create safer environments for children and young people.

Participants will learn what effective practice looks like, common gaps and warning signs, and practical steps to strengthen recruitment, induction, supervision and accountability within their organisation. Participants will leave with practical tools to review their own Code of Conduct and safer HR practices in line with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.

PLEASE NOTE This webinar will not provide an overview of the National Principles. If you haven’t yet completed any training, please view the pre-recorded Foundational Capacity Building webinar on https://www.wacoss.org.au/wa-child-safe-project/

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This webinar is ideal for board members, CEOs, managers, HR staff, supervisors, and anyone responsible for recruitment, onboarding or managing staff and volunteers.
